We have made those wonderful accomplishments in country despite our blunders there and the loss of the lives of soldiers that may have otherwise been saved if our tactics were different. I don't want to denigrate our victories there. But I think the human cost of our soldiers has been greater than they would have been otherwise if we'd kept military policy above political policy there.
As for standing for our soldiers at home, ask anyone in the D.C. Chapter and those who stand in front of Walter Reed Army Medical Center every Friday night if I've stood for the troops at home.
I think that we need to get back on track in Iraq and achieve our victories in ways that don't require the sacrifice of American lives to the PC policies created back home.
The reality is we have lost tremendously little life (regarding U.S. casualties) in regard to all we have achieved in Iraq (and Stan).
Our casualty rate is very low - But without question every fallen warrior is tragic in and of itself -
What has been accomplished in the last 4 years is simply incredible - Since Sept 11th, 2001 our enemies have suffered one strategic defeat after another....we have not suffered one. The notion that certain soldiers may be alive if other tactics were used is the type of circling thinking that ties the hands of everyone and nothing would ever get accomplished. They reality is we have been incredibly successful in this WOT...and have done so with relatively few casualties on the whole.
Are JAGs and PC types at State and the Pentagon causing problems? Without question. But that is called the reality of the modern day world. As I said above are the pukes like Murtha, the DEM leadership and the MSM doing us harm?? Again Without out question they most certainly are...and purposely so at that!! They've foolishly staked their reputations on failure that isn't going to happen.
Best regards,
In agreement.
Thank you for standing up for our troops, Spiff.
