They said it was coming from Reuters via the Iraqi Defense Ministry

Anyone from our government saying this yet? Not that the Iraqi government wouldn't jump the gun and announce a rumor, but they're kind of new at this. I'm going to wait for some of our own guys to report this before I give up.

If true I just hope to God they waited for the families to be told.

I know the US would not officially announce until notification of next of kin.

Statement of General Caldwell just seen on Fox News. He was very upset that the names of the two soldiers had been released to the press. Apparently the families hadn't been notified yet. He did not confirm or deny the Iraqi government report though. Also spoke about the number and importance of the most recent capture or killing of known Al-Queda members.
