I never said anything about Jackson or Carter. I have no idea about them personally. But there are plenty of liberal Christians.
And even forgetting the word liberal for a moment, let me ask you this:
If George Bush were an Ayn Rand conservative instead of an evangelical conservative, do you think the federal budget would be smaller or larger than it is right now?
I don't care how conservative evangelicals want to be, the fact is they are lured by the same self-sacrifice garbage that the left is. Although they are a million times more worthy than the leftists, as individuals and as a group, the fact is, they still have this incredible weakness for the self-sacrifice myth, which is easily exploited, even with the best of intentions. As in the case of W.

"But there are plenty of liberal Christians. "
Where are they at?
Name any well known liberals who are REALLY Christians (that is, for example, don't spew out Bush hate as a matter of routine). The Jimmy Carters of the world need not apply.
"If George Bush were an Ayn Rand conservative instead of an evangelical conservative, do you think the federal budget would be smaller or larger than it is right now? "
Exactly what does Ayn Rand or budget deficits got to do with Christianity?
Or Ann Coullter calling liberals "Godless"?

Their "compassion" is paid for by the wealth of others.
