Folks, go to the website and check in the bar: a very active chat room and leave messages at the Waiting room about this tragic event.

Sad news. Baen has been my publisher of choice ever since I discovered David Weber.
I will definitely go to express my sympathy and best wishes.

Very sad. Jim Baen has provided an environment for some of the best SF in decades. David Weber in particular is a treasure of books about loyalty, honor, duty, and self-reliance. I can't recommend his Honor Harrington series strongly enough.

I was so looking forward to seeing him at LASFS the Thursday before worldcon. Hopefully he'll still make it.
As for Bean's digital subscriptions, hardly a month goes by when I don't pick up to six books for $15.

Oh, no! Jim Baen had the brains to pick up one of my favorite authors ever, Lois McMaster Bujold. Praying for him that he can come back from this.

I like BAEN Books' military science fiction. I always thought they had cool covers.
