I think the gal should have sued the socks off the school district in advance. She had a notice in advance of her case, because the powers that be redacted her speech. She didn't say that was unacceptable, and that I am going to sue your nuts off; she apparently just went up on the stage, and decided to read the redacted portions, without realizing that the powers that be had the turn off the mike card to play. She is a bright girl, and over time, will learn to think through the play of the hand several cards ahead. I hope she becomes a lawyer.
Me too. But I can't say that she lost any legal advantage whatsoever by not moving for a TRO before triggering the mike being cut off. The constitutionality of the school's policy and implementation of same doesn't change just because she actually said the words she spoke.
