Are you saying you are for letting prisoners escape?

They let the prisoners escape so they'd have an excuse to shoot them.

"Where did the media get the names? The charges? The description of what happened?"

From someone who was not authorized to say anything. Or at least, that is the story that Reuters, AP and CNN are using.

All of them have made up details as they go before.

By the way, I just checked the DOD and another applicable site, and there is no press release on those sites today, yesterday or any other time about these troops being charged.

So? The US Army released these details. Take it up with them.

"You won't answer those questions because the answers shoot to hell your theory that this is all made up."

It said the soldiers faced charges including "murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, communicating a threat, and obstructing justice".

Notice where the quotes are at, and where they are not at. There are no quotes around the words "it is said the soldiers face charges"...

Do you have a link for that? I have not seen that.

"The US Army released these details."

What evidence do you have that an official of the US Army is who released this?

You can believe this or not believe it. I'm not going to argue with you about it, especially since the story has been all over cable news and radio news today.

the U.S. military said in a statement

That doesn't say much. Just which U.S. military person stated this? Unless they come out and state the name of the quotee, I don't trust the MSM.

"That doesn't matter."

It doesn't matter that the media is not quoting that the troops are charged? Only what the "charges" are?

It doesn't matter that the person that gave this out asked to speak anonamously because that person is not authorized to speak?

It does not matter that there is no evidence from the US Army that charges have been filed?

What does matter to you? Rumor that someone makes sound official? Even when the people spreading the rumor can not, or will not say who they got the information from?

The quotes could well be from someone who has nothing to do with this case and is dreaming of what they want and announcing it.

Yes it is possible, that the US Army really has charged them, but why announce it to the press, and not put it on their website? If it is public, there is no reason for it not to be on their website.

I have a couple of questions for you sink.

While you and I agree on many things, I have been surprised at how quick you've been to support press reports regarding wrong doing by our military men and women.

My first question is—now that time has gone by and we are hearing more, have you changed your position at all on the Haditha situation, or do you stand by your original position that it is very ugly?

The reason I tend to give these guys the benefit of the doubt is simply because I have watched press conferences and read press releases...and then seen the msm reports of those same events later. And the way things are described and reported is often virtually unrecognizable from the intent of the speaker. I distrust EVERYTHING I see in the press, and when I don't I almost always find myself having to apologize in some way or alter my position.

I asked you before if you have some kind of inside knowledge of this, and I'd like to ask you again, if that's ok. I'm curious as to how you are coming to these conclusions.

The documents regarding President Bush were all over the cable news and radio, for several days and yet they were shown to be falsified.
