Did he really say this? It's a Howard Dean moment.
This is good. Perhaps people will start to realize what an idiot Murtha is. Maybe even the Dimo-craps will realize that he's an embarrassment.

Umm... what terrorists are in Okinawa?
What makes Murtha think that terrorism can be fought from there where the bad guys AREN'T?

Murtha is one of the best strategies Rove has dreamed up yet.

What blew me away was the intelligence that the USA used on the ground to locate this dude. Then there was the air support using the UAV to track the Z man. All of this was necessary before the F/A 16s could get into the Act. And yes, the distance for an F/A 16 to fly is a lot shorter than what Murtha has trying to make the American people believe.
At first I was really ticked that Tiny Tim let this idiot talk without any rebuttal. But the more I think about it, I think he is making a fool out of himself that will be used against him big time. Just the personal attack on Rove was bad enough and unprofessional.

Believe it or not but Murtha and Sheehan have something in common. They are both delusional; they each have had their 15 seconds of fame but are both aspiring to greater things by going about spouting nonsensical banalities to adoring crowds made up of the MSM. Sheehan might run for Senate; Murtha wants to be the next Secretary of Defense or the next Speaker of the House. They both will soon disappear into the obscurity from which they came. They are each a disgrace in his or her own way to the USMC.

Umm... what terrorists are in Okinawa?
The Okinawins are already unhappy with the large US military presence on the island. There is no way the Japanese government would even entertain such a massive "redeployment".
The distance and the political realities make Murthra's idea IDIOTIC.

I was visiting my dad for Father's Day and we watched this together. If it weren't about such serious issues, it would have been hilarious. Murtha is a self-aggrandizing dope who couldn't even hit the softballs - no - BEACHBALLS - that Russert was lobbing at him. I think November is going to be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

May be we can all send him a marble with a note that since he has lost his marbles on this issue, we are trying to help him out (of congress).

What a laugh! Murtha reminds me of the Lloyd Bridges character that he played in (I Think) Top Gun. The admiral who lost his eyesight to a bazooka blast at Little Big Horn.

Now wait a minute, maybe they weren't chanting that the US can't win. Maybe they were thinking "We
Dems can't win"!

It's absurd even on the face of it, that he would even suggest that terrorism could be fought by moving troops to Okinawa is a staggering show of just how stupid he is.

Can you imagine if President Bush said this during a press conference!?
Reporter: Mr. President. What are your plans on fighting the War On Terror?
Mr. President: I am going to redeploy all troops to Okinawa, and from this strategic vantage point we will fly our military aircraft and drop bombs on the terrorists.

There'd be gales of laughter from the Left, there'd be jokes about his intelligence, and there'd be hourly media interludes picking it apart.
