Then the war intervened, and the Feds decided it wasn't a good idea to help the Axis powers receive, and reuse domestic news.

Heh, sounds like interesting reading. I'm actually curious about all these clear-channel 50 kilowatters and how the whole thing evolved. And did they roll over for the feds or what?

Also, back in those days, a big powerful AM sig was a good way for a bomber to home in on a major population center.
