I have a little hand-held Sony that has synchronous detection with single sideband..but it doesn't work well for KFI, for some reason. KFI just stinks anymore. I use my CCR every Sunday.

Somtimes there can be a reception problem with smaller radios, even if expensive quality ones because the internal AM antenna is so small.
The CC, GE Superradios have big ferrite antennas.
As mentioned on the thread, if you like AM radio a select-a-tenna is a must, and can dramatically improve performance, especially on radios with small antennas. VP
