Commenting on Karl Rove's remarks in a speech in New Hampshire where he charged that Democrats are "wrong, profoundly wrong" in wanting to cut and run in Iraq, an increasingly rabid anti-war Congressman John Murtha resorted to a personal attack on Rove on Sunday.
"He's in New Hampshire, he's making a political speech. He's sitting in his air-conditioned office on his big fat backside saying, 'Stay the course,'" said Murtha, D-Pa., in an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Obviously rattled by criticism from Rove, Murtha said: "I disagree completely with what he's saying. We need to change direction. We can't win a war like this. This guy's sitting back ... getting paid by the public taxpayer and he's saying to us that we're winning this war ... we've got to change direction. You can't sit there in the air-conditioned office and tell the troops fighting in Iraq that we have to stay the course.
Despite recent gains in Iraq, Murtha insisted the U.S. is losing the war in Iraq. When told by "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert that Rove had told the New Hampshire audience that "if Murtha had his way, American troops would have been gone by the end of April" and American forces wouldn't have killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Murtha downplayed the importance of killing the top terrorist in Iraq, saying dismissively: "They built Zarqawi up, they have a thousand foreign fighters" -- that the intelligence "came from the outside" and that all the U.S. did was bomb his hideout and kill him.
Turning to his own plan for cutting and running, Murtha became increasing irrational, suggesting that U.S. troops there be redeployed outside of Iraq yet close enough to be ready to go back in if the situation required it. When pressed by Russert to say where the troops could be deployed if neighboring countries refuse to accept their presence, as Rove had has said, he suggested they could be set to Okinawa, Japan, which is 5,000 miles from Baghdad.
"We don't have to be right there, Murtha said. "We can go to Okinawa. We could redeploy there instantly."
Murtha takes comfort in the fact that while he has a fat a** himself, he also has a fat waist and a fat head, making him, in his view, at least, handsomely symmetrical. He overlooks the fact that whenever he sits down, it is on his own fat a**, and whenever he opens his mouth it exudes the contents of his fat head, and that the contents of his fat waist are going to bring him to an early demise which will prevent him from enjoying the full fruits of a plush retirement.
Actually, IMHO, the really ugly part of Hillary's anatomy is her fat ankles. If you have ever seen them you know what I mean. Wonder what attracted Bill anyway? Sure wasn't her ankles.
For some time now, I have been studying what Murtha has been saying. I can only conclude that Murtha is probably suffering from some form of mental illness.
I think having a mental illness is a prerequisite for being a 'Rat these days.
The several allusions to Rove's fat *** (the oldest democratic trick in the book--if you can't argue facts, use insults),,,,and the comment about using Okinawa as a base for operations in the Middle East (as if we could have gotten Zarqawi from that distance) was so ludicrous that it doesn't deserve further comment.
He looked like a complete fool--and his constituents should be embarrassed and humiliated by his pathetic performance and totally absurd logic.
Let him talk. The more people hear his incoherent rambles, the better.
Wait is Murtha skinny?
Leave it to RAT politicans for such eloquence. I guess they are no longer trying to emulate FDR and even JFK these days when it comes to public addresses. I would rather listen to five year olds expound on their frustrations.
And a great big one , I'll wager!
I would not be easily convinced that Murtha's Vietnam service was anything more than a burden to the Marine Corps, and I suspect there are officers from Marine Corps Headquarters in the "Sixties" who could corroborate that assertion.

Clinton thought that being married to Hillary would look good on his resume.
Blathering idiots like this are proof positive that God exists.
Your post is a good start on the liar Murtha.
But we hunger for details, more details. It's clear that the liar Murtha was nothing but a REMF, but more research is needed.
The liar Murtha, IOW, needs to be Swiftboated. Good and hard.
Yeah he is a nutter now but he will still win his race. Dems think the nutters are actually the Better American.
The Donks should be embarrassed to have this guy speaking for them. But it is impossible to embarrass a Donk.
Sure. We could redeploy 5000 miles away instantly--if we had the starship Enterprise to beam the boys up and set them back down. Murtha is dangerously mentally unbalanced. If there were any ethical 'rats left, they would be doing something to rein this crackpot in.
"We can go to Okinawa. We could redeploy there instantly."
And to show further what an idget he is, let's not forget that the Okinawans are already eager to have us leave entirely--7000 Marines are moving to Guam in the space of a few years.
Somebody should mention to him that Iraq is the best possible location to launch attacks against Iran and Syria when the time comes.
