"nder the new rules, even someone seeking to immigrate to the Netherlands as a spouse will have to pass the language and culture exam. If they fail, they will not get a visa.
"The integration test abroad has been justified in the parliamentary discussions with reference to the idea that young Dutchmen of Moroccan and Turkish origin should look for a spouse in the Netherlands rather than for spouses in their country of origin because this would continue problems with integration, as the minister has formulated it," Groenendijk says...."

So when's your flight back to Turkey?

With due respect, but the Mexicans are very, very, very different from the animals they get in Europe. I'd rather have 100 illegal Mexicans than 1 Muslim. That being said, I agree with you.

My own little immigration test:
1. Are you a Muslim?
2. Do you believe in killing people who disagree with you, or who are different than you?
3. Do you want to sign up for the government's $36,000/year grant program for new immigrants?
If one question is answered with a yes, then out he goes.

As I said on another post about such tests, who cares? Citizenship classes are a fraud. The mass movements of peoples is a tidal wave that sweeps all before it and no chickensh*t three week government program is going to stop its effects. It is reminiscent of the scene in The Wizard Of Oz where the con man/Professor hands out fake diplomas and hearts. The diplomas are just pieces of paper and the heart is just a watch, they aren't real. The problem is that Western elitists no longer believe it's moral to hold their territory for their own people and nation, the traditional chief function of government.
These fines seem pretty tough, but I'm guessing they'll cave after a short while, certainly when the next lefty govt. is installed. In any case, it is not proven that such tests will work, after all the majority of Islamic terrorists in the West have been individuals who were well into Western culture at some time in their lives. They understood the essence of that culture and they rejected it. Tests like this aren't reform, they're last ditch attempts to short circuit true reform, to avoid facing the obvious - that the present system is a total failure and disaster.

Exactly what is needed in any country with immigrants. Right on. I wish we'd put the 'naturalization' back in the immigration and naturalization service.

Andre Krouwel, an immigration expert from the Free University of Amsterdam, said that many of his own students would be unable to explain the influence of shipping history and colonialism on todays Holland yet both subjects will be compulsory. As in the U.S., this certainly says more about the incompetence of Andre and the deterioration of the educational system, than it does about the difficulty of the test.

One can debate the supposed benefits of multiculturalism in the West (i.e., Chinese restaurants, Italian construction workers, Irish cops, Korean convienence stores, etc.), but what great cultural contributions have Moo-slimes ever made to the West?

A DRACONIAN new law is expected to force immigrants to the Netherlands to sit a tough exam on Dutch history, geography and culture...
Sample Test Questions:
- What are 'Dutch Masters'
- Who was Hans Brinker
- What is a 'Dike'. [That's 'DIKE', not 'Dyke']
- Speaking of 'Dykes', what is a 'Van Dyke'
- Where is 'Flanders'
- Where is 'Holland'
- What are The Low Countries'
- What was the purpose of 'Wooden Shoes'.
- Would you rather have;
- Roses on your Piano or
- Tulips on your Organ
- What are Windmills
- Do you tilt at them?

Failure to attend the course or pass the exam within five years will trigger an annual fine of almost £700, cuts in benefits or the termination of a residence permit. Mind you, this development is fantastic and I hope more European countries follow it, but isn't it a bit much to expect someone who has been in country for 30 years to need and additional five years to meet minimum requirements?
As for "termination of residence permit", first of all, it's reassuring that it is subject to revocation, but I want to see it to believe it.
I wish the U.S. had conditional citizenship, with activism against our Constitutional principles as prima facie evidence of frudulent intent.
