This is anecdotal, but I've thought about it because it's so ironic.

I personally know of two servicemen killed just after they'd returned from battlefront, one from Afghanistan and one from Iraq.

The one from Afghanistant was involved in a traffic accident which killed my step-grandson. He skid on ice into a bridge and the serviceman stopped to help. They were both killed by a truck which slid into them.

The other happened a few days ago. A man just back from Iraq was killed in Dallas by a carjacker.

There are no guarantees of safety wherever you are.
