Yes, his ACU rating is nearly perfect. So is FL Sen. Mel Martinez's. The problem is that on one of the 2 greatest issues we have today (Iraq & Illegals), both Cannon and Martinez are on the wrong side of the latter issue. We have a similar problem with one of my (high-ranking ACU) Congressmen from TN, where he's dead wrong on Iraq. I know what they say about single-issue voters, but some issues are simply too important to give elected officials a pass over. If we can find someone who votes better, we should go for it and replace them (remember, they're there to represent us -- and if they're not...). Martinez still has time to get with the program, but Cannon and Jimmy Duncan have blown it and deserve defeat by more Conservative challengers.
Argggghhh! Jimmy Duncan is on the wrong side of Iraq now???? I used to go to church with the man. :( Very upstanding guy.
BS, Cannon has a 97 ACU rating, but in your tancredo/bay buchanan knee jerk animus, you would throw him away for an unknown, like you all did with Perot(which gave us 8 years of Clinton).
Do you all ever think with your brains instead of your knees?
Mel Marine looks creepy is awful on immigration. But I voted for that jackass to keep someone worse out, Betty Castor
Cannon did get with the program. Cannon voted for HR4437.
Never going to happen.
I knew in 04 he was going to screw conservatives, but I had hoped not on something this crucial. Trouble was, his DIM opponent was beyond belief worse.
Nonetheless, I called his office and told them I was sorry I ever voted for him and would never vote for him again. If he was going to sell out *real* US citizens for illegals, he would do it without my vote.
Of course, that was all true, I simply neglected to mention that I had moved out of Florida recently.
