Conservative Republican Tom Tancredo has a lower lifetime rating from the National Education Association than your open borders buddy Cannon. Which congressman is voting for the liberal education camp more often? Hmmmmm?

And who is publicly calling for the dismantling of the Education Dept.

It ain't tom tancredo, it's Chris Cannon.

"And who is publicly calling for the dismantling of the Education Dept."

Not that I even think it's politically practical, but there is something amiss about saying a 10-year incumbent is for something that manifestly has not happened and will never happen so long as Rep Cannon is in office. It is a talking point at odds with his actual votes:

http://www.chriscannon.com/Issues/education.html
"Against the backdrop of decades of increasing federal involvement and funding in our local schools, with little apparent benefit, I voted for the NCLB as a catalyst for needed change. Accountability, targeting resources toward real needs and closing the achievement gap between disadvantaged students and their peers were basic intentions of the NCLB, and after throwing billions of tax dollars at education without such accountability, it made sense to try to enact some common sense reforms into the manner in which federal assistance is used in our schools."

This is from hos own website. He closes with ...
"However, even with those modest improvements, the bureaucratic implementation of NCLB has made it clearer than ever that the only real answer is to get the federal government out of our classrooms."

That would be great, if only we had a "Federal Govt out of the classroom Act" with over 100 co-sponsors, including Cannon. NCLB went in the opposite direction, with more Federal money and more Federal direction.
