I wish I could share your optimism but my gut tells me that the video has already been made and will show up in the next day or so. The guys that took them will not wait around to be found.

You mean the way Reagan avenged the murder of our Marines in Lebanon? That Reagan?

Reagan was in a lose-lose situation. By responding, he'd be endangering innocent civilians' lives. Plus he had the Dem Congress harping on him to pull out or risk losing funding (like the Rats cut funding for Vietnam).

Reagan's pull-out was not the same as Xlinton cutting and running from Somalia. It just made sense from a more military and PR standpoint.

If someone like Patton were alive today he'd be put on ritalin as a boy, prozac as a young man, then viagra in his middle age. A nice, reasonable organization man who sits in his cubicle from 9 till 5, then goes home to watch the ball game and download porn.

We ignored the middle east at our peril, didn't we.

Now President Bush is determined to correct that neglect.

We have Libya disarmed, Lebanon kicking the Syrians out of their country, and in a small way voting in Saudi Arabia

This President chose to stop deifying Yasser Arafat and I believe there will be a resolution to the two state proposal. Zero attacks anywhere is unrealisitc.

You can't even walk down the street of any inner city in America and be safe from attack.

This instant gratification nonsense is counter productive, harmful to our troops, and helpful to our enemies.

HT would have taken care of these carpet flyers long ago.

Yeah, true, but the real Dems are long gone, and we have not had a fighter in the WH since Reagan. I also think RR would have made dust out of these stone-age maggots we are sorta fighting over there, a long time ago.

War has become liberalized -- worrying more about what the enemy thinks of us, rather than the fact they are trying to kill us. Welcome to the new Washington, DC, which might as well be run by Stalin and Chamberlin.

I just don't think we can do that kind of thing...

Well Viet Nam was a war that was NOT FOUGHT TO BE WON, and I pray this one will change its course and not be the same thing either. In VN, we wasted 55,000 good lives and untold tax dollars. The communists/socialists in our governemnt want the Middle East fighting to fail, simply for the sake of regaining power by making Bush fail. We actually have two wars in progress -- one against Islamic Fascism, and one again American communism that wants to destroy America, capture it, and rule it as a socialist nation.

Pick your battle. Both must be won and soon.

I am in agreement with you regarding socialism/communism in the American liberal spectrum. I think we are indeed at war with them for the soul of our nation.

We are also at war with Islamic Facism, but in my opinion, we do not yet know how far it is going to go into the general muslim public. It may turn into a global war against Islam in general eventually, but I do not think it will. If it does, I will, of course, change my stand.

"What would that do? To firebomb the Sunni triangle? First of all, it wouldn't happen before the whole world knows about it, so people would have time to get away. Quarantine the whole area? Good luck with that."

It would have done a hell of a lot of good. That area is where many of the problems have come from for the past 30 months. And it would have had to be done in the way we firebombed cities in Germany and Japan ... no advanced notice.

They could try to contain him, I'd vote to no avail.
