According to the DOD report, the checkpoint where the one guard was killed, God rest his soul, and the other two were kidnapped was close enough for other troops who responded to hear the gunfire and commotion, so it's not as though they were situated out in a desolate spot as you seem to imply.
Regardless of the facts as we have them at present, it's senseless to sit here at home just speculating and bickering. The energy this consumes would be better spent in prayer for the safe return of our two missing soldiers. There'll be plenty of time to dissect and bicker about what happened when they are found and return to their loved ones and the monsters who have them are punished and on the receiving end of what they deserve.

If that's the case, then great. But everything I'm hearing is that no support arrived for 15 minutes to begin searching for these men. If other troops were nearby, then how did these men have time to hustle these guys into a car and drive off without anyone giving chase? I hope I'm wrong, but based on what's been reported so far this looks like a screw up.
