Does anyone know if Murtha was a Marine DI? He was giving a speech at a local college the other day and he mentioned to the crowd that he was getting nasty Emails but it did not bother him because he was a Marine DI and has heard it all before. Just wondering..............

It is a very dangerous game to question someone's documented combat record. You had better be right, with first-hand witnesses to fraud (and in Kerry's case), or else the disgrace will be upon you for slander or libel. The Marine Corps affixed a "V" to his Bronze Star, which means it was earned in battle.

My point is that Murtha's record is irrelevant. Nobody ever questioned Benedict Arnold's bravery or honorable service in battle against the French. All that mattered later was his Treason in selling out to the British during the War for Independence. Nothing that Murtha -- or I -- did decades ago can excuse our actions today. John Murtha was once a Marine. Now John Murtha is a Traitor.
