The great middle ground..
What's so great about it?
All it has done for us is prevent ANWR from getting drilled, social security from being reformed, abortion on demand to continue, illegals to continue to stream across the border and claim benefits that legal citizens don't have available to them,, Oh and did I mention, over a 30% increase in spending the last 3 years here in California.
That sounds like some pretty expensive property to me.. I question its worth so far.. but them I'm not a fat cat developer with my hooks in a few politicos and a few hundred acres in a flood plain I want to develop
then = them
Can't win without it ...
But you know that, huh?
And what did all that "unity" get us? Did we get ANY of the platform that helped him win? (CUT, CUT, CUT, etc.). No. We've got the Dems and Arnold collaborating for bigger spending, bigger borrowing, more social programs. With his global warming program, we'll be ceding to the UN in no time!

GRUNT: I'm going to vote for Arnold because I'm very proud of him and hopeful and confident of his success. For me he represents the Rennaisance of the Republican party. and substancially providing dynamic leadership and unity to our state. As a unified state, regardless of party lines, we will be able to accomplish miracles. Some "miracle", grunt. Your idea of winning is a whole lot different than mine. There are TWO parties for a reason--they stand for DIFFERENT things. Having Arnold morph into a Democrat does not advance Conservatism in any way.
You won't catch me baggin' on conservatives anymore, they've got enough problems, but my opinion of you and the ilk herd remains constant. You exist to divide.
You are "baggin' on conservatives" every day, in favor of capitulation to the big spending liberals in Sacramento. This IS a conservative forum, remember? Why not take your Purple platform over to DU. Their views seem much more in line with your objectives.
From your keyboard... and your wallet. :-(
The last few elections including the Recall, the middle of the roaders Ca GOP and New Majorityites who now hold the reins have shot its primary selected candidates in the foot in an attempt to keep conservatives out of high office, in case you haven't noticed.
Now , its moderate candidates got booted in the primary (except for special exemption aRnie),, and the lip smacking for Tom has ceased to be believable as I doubt he will be listened to any more than other conservatives have been lately, he likely will serve as little more than a hood ornament for the Gub's campaign Hummer.
Go ahead, knock conservatives and hug your Rinos, why don't'cha, that seems to be your favorite mode.. and a couple others here as well.
You can see how hard they are working to defeat DiFi too, so that tack doesn't fly with me.. they aren't even trying to take her on..
We need to grab back 5% of the vote to make it red again.
The only reason it is tinted blue at all is all the excessive government/union employment.
I had a purple spitoon once. Traded it in for a purple chamber pot. I dislike the "Purple State Dream" with a purple passion!!!
Shazzam! Is this thread still alive?
You and me both, SW! I'd still like one of these so-called moderates to define what the Platform of this "purple party" might stand for. The great middle ground of mush that stands for nothing, IMO.
Shazzam! Is this thread still alive?
It appears to have had a new awakening!
And 100% of that... Is still nuthin!!!
Are you psychic, or what?
GOP candidate seeks Schwarzenegger's backing But governor may prefer Feinstein over conservative

There are some things in evidence happening that even scoundrels will not deny. ;-)
What happens when a bunch of rich internationalist elitist fat cats assume lead positions in state and federal gubamint?
Stay tuned, it will only get more sickening is my gut read of the scenario playing out.
I don't like your crystal ball.
It seems accurate, but I still don't like it!
VERY CLEVER!
Thanks for the ping!
~ you're welcome! ~
I saw this post before it was pulled, and can attest to FairOpinion's statement of fact.
Actually you can't win with it. The RNC has backed the squishy middle in California to the detriment of conservatives since 1996. The only squish to win a major position has been Arnold. And that's been a real victory, if you're a Democrat.
You can attest to what she sent me in freepmail?
Is there some sort of secret distribution list that you all share?
dalereed's post, dear.
Is dalereed a she?
Just in case anyone is curious, I worked on the GOP campaign in the area Steve Poizner was running to represent. He sent mailers to independent and Democrat bashing Republicans.
