DUBLIN, Calif. - Audra Schmierer's Social Security number really gets around. It has been used by at least 81 people in 17 states, most of them probably illegal immigrants trying to get work. The federal government took years to discover the number was being used illegally, but authorities took little action even then.

"They knew what was happening but wouldn't do anything," said Schmierer, 33, a housewife in this affluent San Francisco suburb. "One name, one number, why can't they just match it up?"

The victim does the leg work, and gets names and addresses of the employers and the government does nothing. In one case, she gets someone to go out and talk to the illegal who was using her social security number. The guy claims he bought it at a flea market, and the authorities tell the guy to have a nice day, and remember to vote Democrat...(Okay, I made up that last part about voting Democrat, but I suspect it is not far from the truth).

In the long run, no. It will get straightened out before the SS system cuts any checks to her. But I bet she is getting some rather unpleasant letters from the IRS.

You mean are the fraudulent contributions credited to her account?

No. That's the idea. That's why they do nothing. All the fraudulent revenue is pushing back the social security meltdown date. Since the voters rejected Bush's social secuity reform this is, apparantly, the next best thing.... Thanks the Dems. Thank AARP.

You've got it right, oprah.

I base this on 1st-hand info from someone this happened to. He was told that "sub-accounts" are created for that SS#, and it will never be credited it to him.

And yes, it's a cash cow that the SSA doesn't want to give up. Sort of like the tobacco/non-smoking agenda. Legalize it, tax it, subsidize it, but just don't smoke, "because it offends me" mentality.

How so? The IRS is forbidden by federal law from verifying Socialist Security numbers. It's a wall that makes Jamie Gorelick's DoJ wall look like an open barn door.

The IRS will be getting income reported to it from her social security number that she is not reporting on her 1040. This will cause her all sorts of grief that she will have to deal with. If she were to try and collect social security she would have to have all that cleared up before she would be eligible because she would have to prove how much she is earning at the very least.

I have nothing but contempt for my government and those elected to hold office. The government needs citizens like the one in this story. The government needs citizens like myself and most on this forum who work hard and play by the rules. But they have no respect for those who work hard and play by the rules if they did, citizens would not be left in the lurch to beg and cajole those in office to accept the responibilities of their office by administering and enforcing the law that so many of us still hold in high regard.

That is the real problem. Our government does not care. I don't know what it will take to make them care.

Subject: Social Security a good idea gone bad...

Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. Its easy to check out if you dont believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on whats what .

Our Social Security

Many years ago in Seattle, two wonderful neighbors, Elliott and Patty Roosevelt came to my home to swim on a regular basis. They were a great couple full of laughter and stories that today I continue to marvel at. Both are now deceased, but their stories remain.

During the years of our friendship we had many, many discussions about Elliott's parents (President Franklin D.
and Eleanor Roosevelt) and how his father and mother never intended for the Social Security and Welfare programs to turn out the way they are today. Elliott used to say that if his parents returned to earth and saw what the politicians had done to their programs they would have burned all of them in hell.

Here is a story I received today regarding the Social Security Program and I immediately thought of Elliott's comments. I Hope you will read this and think about it.
___________________________________________

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program,
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent "Trust Fund" rather than into the General operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to "put away" -- you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent "Trust Fund" and put it into the General fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the "tie-breaking" deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US.

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:

A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after doing all this lying and thieving and violating
of the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so.

But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to?
Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.
Forward this E-mail to others so that they can be informed of the truth.

No. The gov't will use the illegal's contributions to her account to show that the illegal is just an honest hard working person doing work that Americans won't do. Then, the illegal can use this data to show proof of employement and to pay off back taxes with the $4,000+ Earned Income Credit they will get thru amnesty.
