DUBLIN, Calif. - Audra Schmierer's Social Security number really gets around. It has been used by at least 81 people in 17 states, most of them probably illegal immigrants trying to get work. The federal government took years to discover the number was being used illegally, but authorities took little action even then.
"They knew what was happening but wouldn't do anything," said Schmierer, 33, a housewife in this affluent San Francisco suburb. "One name, one number, why can't they just match it up?"

Does she get credit for all the work used under her SSN?
Yea... Ive has someone using mine for 5 + years ...no one cares
She ought to.
You mean are the fraudulent contributions credited to her account?
No. That's the idea. That's why they do nothing. All the fraudulent revenue is pushing back the social security meltdown date. Since the voters rejected Bush's social secuity reform this is, apparantly, the next best thing.... Thanks the Dems. Thank AARP.
You've got it right, oprah.
I base this on 1st-hand info from someone this happened to. He was told that "sub-accounts" are created for that SS#, and it will never be credited it to him.
And yes, it's a cash cow that the SSA doesn't want to give up. Sort of like the tobacco/non-smoking agenda. Legalize it, tax it, subsidize it, but just don't smoke, "because it offends me" mentality.
So you're a smokestack eh? :)

How so? The IRS is forbidden by federal law from verifying Socialist Security numbers. It's a wall that makes Jamie Gorelick's DoJ wall look like an open barn door.
I have nothing but contempt for my government and those elected to hold office. The government needs citizens like the one in this story. The government needs citizens like myself and most on this forum who work hard and play by the rules. But they have no respect for those who work hard and play by the rules if they did, citizens would not be left in the lurch to beg and cajole those in office to accept the responibilities of their office by administering and enforcing the law that so many of us still hold in high regard.
That is the real problem. Our government does not care. I don't know what it will take to make them care.

Subject: Social Security a good idea gone bad...
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. Its easy to check out if you dont believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on whats what .
Our Social Security
Many years ago in Seattle, two wonderful neighbors, Elliott and Patty Roosevelt came to my home to swim on a regular basis. They were a great couple full of laughter and stories that today I continue to marvel at. Both are now deceased, but their stories remain.
During the years of our friendship we had many, many discussions about Elliott's parents (President Franklin D.
and Eleanor Roosevelt) and how his father and mother never intended for the Social Security and Welfare programs to turn out the way they are today. Elliott used to say that if his parents returned to earth and saw what the politicians had done to their programs they would have burned all of them in hell.
Here is a story I received today regarding the Social Security Program and I immediately thought of Elliott's comments. I Hope you will read this and think about it.

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program,
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent "Trust Fund" rather than into the General operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
No. The gov't will use the illegal's contributions to her account to show that the illegal is just an honest hard working person doing work that Americans won't do. Then, the illegal can use this data to show proof of employement and to pay off back taxes with the $4,000+ Earned Income Credit they will get thru amnesty.
