I have now switched over all telephone land lines to VoIP.
I get two separate numbers (my old ones) with totally unlimited local and long distance, eFax, VoiceMail, Anonymous Call Rejection, etc. for $19.95 per month total. Plus state tax of $1.20. That's it. I have Cable Broadband for $44.95 per month. I am saving around $200 per month just on telephones!
How is the quality of the sound? Is it ever dalayed, garbled, or drop out completely?
I too have switched to VoIP - EarthLink's True Voice. My main reason was several of my family members were ill and they all live out of state.
We had a bumpy start .. but when it was all ironed out .. I'm now very happy with the change.
I am paying $24.99 per month. I too have cable service - Time Warner's Road Runner and I have internet and basic cable through them also.
What VoIP service do you have that's 19.95?
Please explain the basics of efax. I looked into it a year or so ago and did not like the idea of logging on to a website and paying them a service charge to fax something on my computer to a remote fax machine.
I just want to load the papers and hit the fax button after dailing the fax numbers. Can I do that as simply with VoIP? TIA.
The cable service in my area is too unstable. They knocked out my internet service for 3 weeks just trying to get the cable lines configured for VoIP. I think I'll keep my regular land line for a while still. I can't remember the last time my phone lines were down, I would need more than the 10 fingers I have to count the number of times my cable has been out in the past year.
