Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Strange venue for in-your-face celebration of the love that (formerly) dared not speak it's name.
What Jerusalem community supports overt celebration of homosexuality???? Not Jews, not Muslims.
homo agenda ping
Is "souls have been saved" a usual Jewish concept? It sounds much more Christian.
That said, I'd be there in my Frumpy Fundamentalist FReep Frock, if I had the chance :-).
It is a Jewish concept, only Jews and Christians disagree over the method.
Okay, thanks!
Such "Gay Pride" parades serve two purposes - and neither have to do with "pride"...:
1. The term used - "Gay" is such an oxymoron, because no homosexual is truly "gay" (happy). In fact, homosexuals have among the higest suicide rate of any demographic. The fact is, these parades and rallies are simply a way to put on a fraudulent face to what is truly a sad culture.
2. They feel that if they shove it down out throats, we will just shut up and accept it - and not condemn their behavior.
A modesty parade -- I like it! I hope it catches on here as well.
"They feel that if they shove it down out throats, we will just shut up and accept it ..."
unfortunate turn of phrase there methinks.....
And it's the right of the Shofar group to march as well.
Freaks = press coverage. Nudity = ratings. Normal = zzzzzz. The Howard Stern formula, even without the liberal bias, works every time.
I agree, why have it in Jerusalem?? Tel Aviv seems more appropriate.
Awesome. I wish I could go to Jerusalem and honor this parade. Will you post some pictures when it happens?
It's also a Hindu (Vedic) concept. When the soul becomes pure and free from all selfish desires and is dedicated 100% to the loving service of God, this is salvation or liberation.
I was thinking Sodom or maybe Gomorrah.
G-d bless Rabbi Yitzchaq!

Actually, I disagree. "Salvation" implies the chr*stian notion of G-d losing control of the world to Satan (G-d forbid!) and Satan becoming "by nature" the "gxd" of the human race until each individual "passes from nature to grace" in order to acquire HaShem as his G-d. Contrariwise, Judaism teaches that HaShem is the only G-d there ever was, Satan was never a "gxd" of any kind whatsoever, and G-d is "by nature" the G-d of every human being born into the world, and therefore religion is statutory rather than salvational. But perhaps I'm splitting hairs on a popular messageboard.
To be frank, "salvation" implies that man's role in the process is purely passive and G-d does everything, yet when you get right down to it only Calvinists and universalists really hold this consistently. Everyone else requires some form of participation by the individual being "saved," which isn't really being "saved" at all. When you get right down to it the difference between "praying the sinner's prayer" and keeping the mitzvot of the Torah is quantitative, not qualitative.
