Yes, I fear that might be her reaction to our musings. I don't know anything about her personally, but she will be studied for many years to come in most universities that teach medicine, nursing, counseling, ethics and theology as well as other faculties. It is a real shame that a Canadian University has to experience negative protests as a result of her presence.
A lot of people would not know, for example, in cases like Terry Schiavo (Florida), all the lawyers, judges, medical people would all be responding to the ethical models influenced by Margaret Somerville. Although they might not be studying her directly or even know her name she is probably the most respected voice in the world of modern medicine in the face of the ethical challenges today.
I do appreciate your sending me that clip. Thank you.

And don't forget the USA's slimy Republican energy traitors who won't allow oil companies to drill off the coast of Florida. Heaven forfend some pantywaist tourist should see an oil rig; he might faint from shock!
You are 100 percent correct. There is absolutely NO excuse for the federal government NOT to be drilling the living daylights out of ANWR, offshore resources, and declaring those resources a national security asset and preventing any foreign interest from laying their paws on them.
If America has oil in the Gulf of Mexico, or off our Atlantic and Pacific coasts, or in ANWR in Alaska, (and we do) it is incompetence and stupidty at it's worst NOT to be getting that oil into the hands of Americans, instead of allowing the OPEC nations to influence our foreign policy by blackmail, either subtle or blatant.

Check out: Hollywood studio to produce feature based on tainted blood scandal - this appalling story has it all: Slick Willie & his 'down home' cronies, mysterious 'Arkancides', AIDS & sundry other diseases, liberal sleaze & corruption, etc, etc, etc.
Only at the point of a gun!

"These circular arguments of yours are becoming tiresome."
I think your right.
Your posting something implying it is a statement I made rather than pointing out it was a statement made to me. In addition, the comment was generic. I did not think it was about you in the particular, but possibly it may have applied to you in the general. So, you ask me to research to determine if it applies to you in the particular and I, frankly, just don't understand the purpose of the exercise. If you have a need to say something, say it. I will respond as best I can. But, I have no desire to dispute that which I am not able to follow.

Your posting something implying it is a statement I made rather than pointing out it was a statement made to me. You posted it, claiming it came to you from another poster.
You used it to paint all Canadian FReepers as freely bashing Americans, while not being able to take any criticism.
I simply asked you to back up this statement with facts from my posts, which you can't do. OK, use the posts of any Canadian FReeper to prove your (or someone else's, as you claim) point.
Or take it back.
You throw out general insults, and then try to walk away from them. You never back up anything you say. It's all just your feelings.
Blech.

Where I am in error I would hope that I am simple enough to admit my error, apologize if appropriate and move on. In this case, the matter appears to more delicate. It appears that we have, once again, accused each other of manipulating the truth. You do not believe my understanding or explanation of what I think is material to the discussion. From my perspective, I do not seem to be able to follow where it is you want to go in your discussion of this matter. Perhaps this level of mistrust and confusion makes it impossible for us to try and continue any dialog. I thought the statement I made a bunch of posts previously still serves as effective marker for what I believe is reasnable.
"If you find I have criticized Canadian conservative leaders as individuals or in their personal capacity than I have committed a grave error and, I would, of course apologize. If, on the other hand, my criticism is of Canadian policy or strategic choices than I think that is fair in terms of any dialog as it would be for you."

Earth worshiping communists is all they are.
I would like any enviromentalist to explain to me how we are supposed to achieve the building of all these glorious wind towers & solar panels without more energy needed to create them.

With the case I was speaking of, it is more to do with 'safety issues' - a group is afraid the gas pipeline will blow!! Five men ended up in prison for contempt of court, they went back to protest, despite court orders. I can't help thinking that Sinn Fein/IRA are behind the protest.

Good point!! Not to mention that power from solar and wind power is inconsistent - which in turn is bad for a national grid (even voltage regulator circuits wouldn't be a safe guard).
