I used to think Gibson was a lightweight - maybe it was the hair! - but I've grown to like him a lot. As you say, he lacks the pomposity of many hosts, and I think he's intelligent in an old-fashioned, common-sensical kind of way - sort of a modern-day Paul Harvey.
