Yup. That's the ticket. People who are charitable only do it because they want to dodge taxes. Dick Cheney gave away $6.5m this year. I just know he did it to dodge taxes.

Obviously, greed is driving his generosity. Because if he kept the stock, he would pay no income taxes and still have the billions in net worth. If he sold the stock and kept the money, he would have xx billion - 20% taxes (or maybe a higher rate because of the AMT). If he gives away the money, he had $0 of it left. Thus, he's giving it away out of greed.
