I doubt anyone will break par today. ....especially now that the wind is picking up.

Yup. Wind , the great equalizer on the links.
I'm favoring a foreigner to win, or a rookie.
My sentimental pick is Tom Lehman.

I'd like to see John Cook win (he's tied for the lead at E). Seems like not too long ago I watched him win the U.S. Amateur and how he's pushing 50.
....whoa, Monty just birdied to take the lead at -1.

Yeah, I saw Roberts make that pick on "PTI" yesterday. Kornheiser picked Tiger and Wilbon picked Mickelson.
Furyk is clutch and he's probably the straightest driver out there -- a good pick.

I thought Cook was 50 or more.. His profile says Oct 1957 tho,, He's doing well so far.
Look out for Colin,, he's way overdue.

I'll be updating the thread after each round with results for the day.
Feel free to toss up any golf related links or stuff of interest.

Thanks for the thread! You do NASCAR and Golf...you sure get around.
Poor Woods just boogied his fourth hole! I can see smoke coming from his ears.

Heck, I would expect someone would have posted a thread for the Open already,, Monty's lead is holding up so far..
I have a hometown connection to one of the golfers who has been close a couple times to winning an Open.

Did you see the interview with Monty after his round? He was not his usual obnoxious self.
Who is your hometown connection...if you don't mind me asking?

Monty has been close more than a few times,, he's matured like Phil..
Tom Lehman, his dad used to be my insurance agent, Tom and his brother played with 2 nephews of mine in high school football for a couple years., he was a 3rd string q'back on a state championship team, I think. He coached the Golf team at the U of Minnesota for a bit as well. A good guy.

Tom Lehman is a very good golfer. That should make it interesting for you.
Poor Tiger, +7 he can't get a break and his putting is horrible.

Tiger Woods needs to focus on golf, not being Tiger Woods. Allowance for the death of his father, but Tiger's been choking (at the high end of the professional level, of course) for 3+ years.
