I'll take quality over quantity any day of the week. Furthermore there are more Soldiers / Marines / Shooters today then there was in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004.... We are not shrinking our fighting capabilities in the least.
It is amazing for people to suggest "what we can't do" - My God, we have only liberated over 50 million + people in less then 4 years - Removed two long established and brutal Gov't, decimated over 3/4 + of the leadership of the most serious terrorists organization in the world (not too mention having killed thousands and thousands of their foot soldiers).
The foolish and silly Monday morning quarterbacking of the most successful unconventional war in the history of man is just a joke -
SecDef Rumsfeld was dead on correct when he said "you go to war with the Army you have, not the one you'd like" - And since 2001 our Armed Forces have only become more effective and more capable. That the old Big Green has had some feathers ruffled in the process is a great thing.
Great post. As usual.
You're damn right it is.
