poker player or a great chess player?

My Answer: Poker - and here's why.

- Chess is one-on-one - poker is one-on-many
- Chess requires you to play 1 game (hand) - poker you can fold now - take a loss - and win later
- Poker occasionally allows you to bluff - in chess, bluffs are clearly visible

Get my drift?

I'll go with that. When you mentioned bluffs, I thought that a good bluffer is one, when at times is called, actually does have the cards. Then I thought of GWB - I guess everyone thought he was bluffing concerning Iraq and it bit them in the arse. Now, with Iran, he is saying pretty much the same thing. We're going the diplomatic route but all options are on the table. Libya got the message after Iraq and folded their hand. Iran is running around hoping to draw into a straight flush, not realizing GWB holds the aces - our military, specifically our navy.

Like I said, good analogy and great talking to you.
