I made that assumption because of 1) knowing Carlin and 2) reading his body language.
For the record, I thought Carlin's act was not funny. It's an updated version of shtick he's done for years.
All he did was juxtapose popular phrases that have something in opposition, like "I'm an alpha male on beta blockers," for about five minutes. It was a nice laundry list, but it wasn't funny, no.
