Gay rights bills draw protest (Slavik immigrants ask Arnold to veto California gay school bill)

More than 1,000 people rally on the south steps of the Capitol on Monday, urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and lawmakers to veto legislation about homosexuality in schools. Playing Christian music and holding signs that read "Homosexuality is a sin," protesters, many from the local Slavic Christian community, expressed fear about the impact of such "sexual indoctrination bills." "I'm worried about my family," said Yuriy Mukhin, who described himself as a member of the Melkizedeck church in Sacramento. "I have a 3-year-old daughter and I'm worried that some teacher would teach her that it's totally normal."

It was a HUGE protest, even for this town, which has some big ones. It was mostly clean cut looking families. The sad thing though was that the authorities pulled up three police cars, a situation vehicle and a paddy wagon.

I see dozens of MAJOR protest a year here. The SEIU and other unions have some pretty ugly and raucous gatherings, but somehow there are never paddy wagons parked to intimidate the leftists.

Its good to see some salt and light Christians in action for a change. Too many American churches are too busy raising money and not offending anyone, so as to maximize their return on the offering bucket.

Do you suppose that those protests, actually make a difference???
Say the Slavic Community were not there to protest..do u think AS would not have vetoed those bills???
I would love to hear any and all opinions on this subject.
