Good morning & Happy Flag day to EVERYONE at the Finest
Thank you for the lovely thread Amy! A combo of flag day; Just Amy & Warm Fuzzy.
Your graphics/poetry are already wonderful and I am sure as the day progresses more & more will be added. I will try to be back later tonight for more contributions.
For now here is my flag from LAST year. The scene is about the same except the flag is NEW & the desk is VERY MESSY (not just the regular messy).

The Flag
The child just thinks its pretty, he hasnt tied his heart,
The dog contented by his side, and glad hes taking part.
The elders watch and smile at this, and at their memories,
While overhead, for every eye, Old Glorys in the breeze.
The ones who served, and stood beside, the effort way back then,
Are proud to stand once more, with tears, to honor flag and men.
The flag has covered us so long, we see it every day,
It takes a special moment to remind us all to pray.
Dear God, observe us standing here, and see what we hold dear,
And grant us Peace, and love for You, for all our families here.
And for the men who stand elsewhere, give them the knowledge of,
The pride we have, that they would choose, this way to show their love.

You're a Grand Old Flag by George M. Cohan
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

Who Are You?
LISTEN TO ODB RADIO: Real | MP3 | WMA

READ:
1 John 2:1-11By this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 1 John 2:3
Identity theft is a big problem in the age of credit cards and the Internet. Its not hard for someone to retrieve your vital information and pose as you. If that were to happen, however, it would not change the essence of who you are. The thief would not steal your true identityjust some superficial information about you.
Your identity goes much deeper than your ID numbers. In reality, you are who God says you are. Nothing really matters except whether or not you are identified as a child of God. That alone will dictate your eternal destiny, and that alone will indicate whether you can live life to the fullest.
In 1 John 2, there are three identity qualifierstruths that reveal whether we are Gods children:
-
We know that we have come to know the Lord if we obey His commands (v.3).
-
Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus walked (v.6).
-
Anyone who claims to be in the light will avoid hatred toward others (v.9).
Who are you? Do you know Jesus? If so, you will obey His commands, walk as He did, and love others. No one can ever steal that mark of identity from you. Dave Branon
Lord, help us never be ashamed
To take a stand for what is true,
And give us courage to be named
As faithful followers of You. Sper
No one can steal your identity in Christ.

I wish I had known it was going to be Flag Day today when I was ironing last night, lol. I would have ironed a different outfit!
Hey, I got this in e-mail":
A Man in Need
Try to imagine yourself in this man's shoes, being orally assaulted with hatred and venom on a daily basis at his job. Try to imagine if you did the very best you knew how to do, and STILL, you were despised and hated without reason. How would you feel? How would you be able to function on a daily basis at your job? How would you feel every time you went out in public, knowing that people despised you and there was nothing you could do to change their minds?
This is awesome -- please view!
