First, it's worth noting that Governor Baldacci has high negatives (only 43% approve while 54% disapprove in the latest SurveyUSA Poll) so the GOP has a good shot of retiring him.
But more importantly, yet another McCain buttboy, Dave Emery, is going down in flames. Emery was the alleged frontrunner though you wouldn't know it from his pathetic third-place showing with less than a quarter of the votes. Well, maybe he was the frontrunner, but that must've been before McCain campaigned for Emery and before Emery put up a TV ad with a pitch from McCain.
Maybe it's time for the GOP to take note. This is what frontrunners who are championed by McCain look like on Election Day:
And this is what another candidate very publicly rejected by McCain looks like on Election Day:
Maine primary ping!
Great shot of Bilbray! ~ He looks positively elegant in that red power tie.
This was his day to shine.
It seems that Woodcock is leaving his opponents limp.
The other day, I saw him on Fox talking about the dangers of man-made global warming and how the US has to take the lead in reducing global warming. What a ditz! I think he's trying to be everything to everyone, and he's going to end up like Hillary: out in the cold.
McCan't....Once a hero, now a zero. Hope all he endorses on election day get ZERO results.
I'm moving to Maine from New Mexico in July. Look forward to supporting the conservatives up there with my vote, once I'm eligible.
We're preparing to move back to Maine sometime in 2007. Yes, Maine needs conservatives, the place has gone to hell since I left 30 years ago.
I must've missed something. The article and election results reference Woodcock, Mills, and Emery...but the pictures reference Tom Osborne and Brian Bilbray. Was Osborne and Bilbray running for something else in Maine?
The pics are of those who had some distance from McCain. The theme of antiguv was about McCain. Maine was just one of his little exhibits to that end.
;^)
Both Woodstock and I need to go to the gym.
Just connecting the dots...three amnesty supporters that have gone down
in flames.
I still find it incredible that Tom Osborne, University of Nebraska G-d
could be defeated for any office in Nebraska.
That one loss should have told the Amnesty Shock Troops of the US Senate
and Dubya that their "comprehensive package" was and is in serious trouble.
And not the will of the people.
Aye-yuh, it has gone batshit since I left in 1970 and went to Texas. I remember when it was rockribbed Republican and a little clannish, if you know what I mean. Now it's taxes, nannyism, and envirowhackoism, too much for me to stomach anymore. The commies from NY, Mass and CT have immigrated and taken over the state. Whatever little business there was has left and been replaced by tourism. Rockribbed Republicans have been replaced by spineless Rhinos.
I might feel just a teeny bit naughty, were it not for the certainty that if McCain's endorsed candidates were winning primaries then no doubt McCain flacks would be trumpeting his influence all over the airwaves.. This might be an obscure primary for most of the nation, but McCain's involvement was very high-profile in an otherwise quiet campaign, and someone's got to make sure the worthlessness of his endorsement doesn't go unnoticed.
I'm just doing my little part to keep McCain's name in the spotlight. :)
Woodcock's winning?
Wow.
RedState had a profile of this race, said one was far left, another "Moderate" (Liberal) and another conservative. That last was Woodcock. Pleasantly surprised if their portrayal of him is accurate. A conservative nominated in Maine by Northeastern Republicans, not bad, if it holds out.
Any bashing of McCain is fine by me, but I'm a self acknowledged obsessive when it comes to tearing that man down. LOL
McCain's endorsement hasn't been faring too well lately in political races...seems to have the opposite effect of driving people away. Sort of like when Clinton tries to campaign for someone in any place other then deep deep liberal districts. Not sure his record is that bad yet, but would be worth following which ones he supports and how many get elected...that wouldn't have been shoo ins anyway.
"Just connecting the dots...three amnesty supporters that have gone down in flames."
Ok, I see it now. It's unfortunate that the skulls of the GOP leadership are too thick to register the "SMACK" on the back of the head the failure of the McCain puppies represented.
