A University of Colorado committee recommended on Tuesday firing a professor who called some of the World Trade Center victims "little Eichmanns," citing repeated research misconduct.
The panel's recommendation now goes to university officials for a final decision.
Ward Churchill, a tenured professor of ethnic studies, denied the allegations. He has vowed to fight his dismissal with a lawsuit...

The conclusion one must draw from such examples isn't that every institution has its bad apples but rather that, at least in the liberal arts in America, moral turpitude and political hucksterism pervades higher education.
Radical criminals with questionable academic credentials flourish in a milieu that bristles with hostility toward real scholars who don't toe the party line—witness the case of former Harvard President Lawrence Summers.
Individuals with prison records or FBI rap sheets don't get into major educational institutions because they fudge their resumes.
They get in because they share the political dogmas of those who hire them—and they flourish for the same reason.

Says a lot about how feckless the University is that they would give this fraud tenure. A real Maroonisty ... can you imagine the rationalizations parents must be spewing to go ahead and send their kids to this University knowing it gives tenure to pseudo-intellectual garbage like Churchill.

Noone on faculty tenure committees has the time or expertise to do the investigation it took to uncover all of this. After all, there was a nationwide media dragnet.
Ward Churchill is to Professors what Chiroquackters are to the medical profession...
Ward is just the tip of the University iceberg.
Other professors took out big newspapers ads and marched in support of Ward.
The way this has played out, it would appear the University only decided to can this fraud because he had become too high profile ... he's typical for universities bulging with leftist liberals.
Bring it on.
