It's an amazing pic!
And what COURAGE it took to be up there going into Baghdad. Wow!!
Courage personified!
I will never forget when I first heard that GWB would be coming to NYC two days after 9/11, and thinking "that's not a good idea." Only because I was so worried for him. THe first responders -- who were here from all over the country, even (I think) Hawaii -- still had no clear idea of what they were dealing with as far as the danger in the rubble. But he inspired us.
I recall having the same feeling when GWB decided to throw the first pitch of the 2001 World Series. I was again terribly worried about him, just having the image of him all alone and vulnerable on the field. But his courage and determination inspired us.
There have been several such moments in George W. Bush's presidency where he has shown us all his humanity, humility, wisdom and courage and love for his wife and family.
Of course he's human and imperfect. But his tenacity to what he believes just amplifies the wonderful character traits.
God bless and protect this president.
President Bush sitting in the cockpit was brave...
Steve Malsberg had one of the Fox reporters that are stationed in Iraq on tonight...and he reminded Steve that all of the planes that land in Baghdad have to corkscrew their landing...to avoid missles..
