what COURAGE it took to be up there going into Baghdad Courage personified!
I will never forget when I first heard that GWB would be coming to NYC two days after 9/11, and thinking "that's not a good idea." Only because I was so worried for him. THe first responders -- who were here from all over the country, even (I think) Hawaii -- still had no clear idea of what they were dealing with as far as the danger in the rubble. But he inspired us.
I recall having the same feeling when GWB decided to throw the first pitch of the 2001 World Series. I was again terribly worried about him, just having the image of him all alone and vulnerable on the field. But his courage and determination inspired us.
There have been several such moments in George W. Bush's presidency where he has shown us all his humanity, humility, wisdom and courage and love for his wife and family.
Of course he's human and imperfect. But his tenacity to what he believes just amplifies the wonderful character traits.
God bless and protect this president.

He also just finished saying that President Bush made him so proud to be an American...
BUT, he has had almost all callers saying that Iraq is a failure..blah, blah...
But, Steve keeps batting them away.
President Bush is just beaming in these pictures, isn't he? This is the happiest I think I have seen him since his last inauguration...

whoa... now that is one sexy pix you haven't showed us before!
Yes, it is so easy to pile on the extra pounds. I am 40 lower now than last year at this time. I too became disgusted & decided to get busy. The weight loss class I taught helped. NOT a good idea for the teacher to NOT be a positive example.
I don't really feel I eat less but I am so very physically active. If I ever have a med condition that slows me down I will have problems w/o modifying food/drinks that go in.
Because I am a vegetarian I do eat a lot of "other things" LOVE pasta dishes & cheese. But also have a lot of veggies/salad. I don't use ANY low fat anything. NOR do I do substitute sugar. I just dont think those products are healthy in the long run.
I am selective in my treats/sweets.

Oh yes!!! It is so clear that he loves and repects the troops, he can barely control his emotions, not just today either....whenever he talks to the troops he fights tears.
