Since Reuters is a British news agency, and in British usage a Marine is in the army, it's not that shocking.
Incorrect. The Royal Marines are a component of the Royal Navy not the British Army. The copy editors at Reuters should know the difference but like a lot of freepers they're either ignorant or lazy, or both.
