I've seen a Miatas at the tracks. They do well even when they don't have the aftermarket sports gear (and I mean sports gear, not ricer flash garbage).

Easy and relatively cheap to upgrade, Miata's are great autocrossing cars with superior handling characteristics.

My '91 is stock, just backroad burnin' around for me.
