NBA playoffs: Miami-Dallas Sunday, 9 9.1 (7.0 million)
ABC Up 8% from Detroit-San Antonio Finals game last year. ABC running ahead of last year's Finals, which were the. But if Mavericks win Game 3, ratings could go south.
Belmont Stakes Saturday, 5:30 6.1 (4.7 million) ABC Down 38% from race coverage last year.
Lowest overnight since 2000 Belmont, which was the last time ABC showed the race and the last time it didn't have either winner from the other Triple Crown races.
World Cup soccer: Trinidad and Tobago-Sweden Saturday, noon 2.9 (2.2 million)
ABC Up 107% from Ireland-Cameroon game in 2002 Cup. Ratings for ABC's Cup games from Germany, all shown live, look good so far. That's predictable: ABC's 2002 Cup games, in Japan and Korea, were on tape delay.
French Open: men's final Sunday, 9 a.m. 2.1 (1.6 million) NBC Up 5% from last year's final. Not a bad number considering the time slot.
NHL playoffs: Carolina-Edmonton Sunday, 8 1.7 (1.3 million) NBC Down 15% from comparable coverage in 2004, when the Cup was last contested. When small TV markets are added for national rating, this game has shot at being the lowest-rated prime-time show in the history of broadcast network TV.
This year they showed a couple of the other races at Belmont that day. I have never seen one of the Triple Crown broadcasts show anything other than the main race before. Normally I am bored out of my skull by the hour and a half of horse race intro for a 2 minute race, so I would tune in right before the actual race.
Any info on the NASCAR ratings on FOX?
Great numbers for the World Cup
The only info I have is from Sunday, May 28, 2006
5.0 rating/10 share
Maybe the NHL should try taking a year off?
