US Marines Build Shrine To Islam

We are at war with militant Islam, but you wouldn't know it from the Pentagon, which is busy erecting a shrine to Islam just five short years after Islamic terrorists destroyed a good chunk of its own building and killed more than 100 of its occupants. Worse, it's consulting on the project with a Wahhabi-educated cleric posing as a moderate.

Last week, military brass -- along with representatives from the terror-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations -- dedicated the first Muslim prayer center for the Marines as a symbol of the military's "religious tolerance" and "respect" for the faith the enemy uses to attack us. Already, plans are in the works to build by 2009 a bigger mosque at the Marine base in Quantico so Muslim service members can have a "proper place" to worship, and one that "honors their religious heritage," officials say, not realizing that the mosque can also be used by the enemy to build a Fifth Column inside the Marines.

The idea for the center came from Navy Lt. Abuhena Mohammed Saifulislam, a young, smooth-talking Muslim chaplain, who wanted a permanent place of worship -- and "education" -- for the growing number of soldiers who are interested in -- and converting to -- Islam.

Quantico has only 24 Muslims on base, so the mosque -- the first of its kind in the 230-year history of the Corps -- will also serve to introduce and draw other Marines to the faith. Large posters explaining how "Muslims love and respect Jesus" (but only as a minor prophet and not the son of God, which they view as blasphemous to Allah) line the inside of the white building. This is one way imam Saifulislam -- known on base simply as "Saif" -- bridges the faiths to reach out to Christian soldiers. Blacks are particularly susceptible to his pitch.

Apparently, whatever Saifulislam wants, he gets -- even at the terrorist prison camp at Gitmo, where he was first assigned after 9-11. There, he recommended that al-Qaida detainees be served halal meals -- including traditional dates and lamb -- prepared according to Islamic dietary law. The Gitmo menu now boasts 113 Muslim-appropriate meals for the benefit of finicky terrorist tummies.

That's not all. Thanks to Saifulislam's advice, our enemy now wakes to the sound of Muslim chaplains calling them to prayer instead of barking dogs or guards, who are now trained in Muslim sensitivity. Also thanks to Saifulislam, detainees can brush up on jihad by reading paperback Pentagon-issued copies of the Quran. They can even finger prayer beads and wear makeshift turbans and skull caps.

While at Gitmo, the Navy imam privately counseled al-Qaida prisoners in their native tongues of Urdu and Arabic. "I must give hope for them to cope," Saifulislam said. How thoughtful of him.

It turns out Saifulislam also ministered to Marine Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, a fellow Muslim charged with desertion, just before he went AWOL again last year. Hassoun deserted his post in Iraq where he served as an Arabic translator. After he was captured, and after he met with the Quantico imam, he deserted again.

Saifulislam is clean-cut with a Colgate smile. The Pentagon gives him great latitude because he claims to be moderate.

However, Saifulislam studied Islam at a hardline Wahhabi school in Virginia that was raided by federal authorities after 9-11. And one of his mentors is Taha Jaber Al-Alwani, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Sami al-Arian terror case. Federal court records allege he gave at least $50,000 in jihad money "to support suicide bombings" in Israel.

Saifulislam, born in Bangladesh, insists he is only a Sunni Muslim and does not adhere to the faith's more orthodox and militant Wahhabi sect practiced by Osama bin Laden and his ilk. Still, his pro-jihad academic background should raise flags at the Pentagon.

Instead, it's giving him a permanent taxpayer-supported platform from which to convert grunts to Islam. With the Quantico mosque, the Pentagon is facilitating the study of the holy texts the enemy uses, heretically or not, as their manual of war. This is tantamount to the Marines setting up a Mein Kampf reading room during WWII.

The timing of the dedication ceremony is ironic by half. As the deputy secretary of defense and Marine commandant respectfully removed their shoes to enter the mosque and intoned pleasant PC platitudes about being one big happy "family" with Muslims, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced the arrest of 17 Muslim men who had allegedly plotted to explode fertilizer-based bombs at important sites in Canada. Their plans also called for attacking parliament and even beheading the prime minister. Almost half of them had attended the same mosque in Toronto.

Several military officers chose to sit out the Quantico ceremony than hear deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England mouth "salaams" to the Muslims in attendance. They think the mosque is misplaced, and don't trust its imam.

"I have great concern about this young Muslim chaplain," said Lt. Comm. Gary P. Stewart, also a Navy chaplain. "I don't trust him."

The Pentagon's over-the-top gesture is only the latest sign that political correctness is running amok inside the military. Chief chaplains for the Navy, Army and Air Force routinely meet with top leaders from the Islamic Society of North America for PC powwows, even though ISNA is a Saudi-backed group with ties to terrorists. No matter, the Pentagon distributes ISNA literature on Islam and Muslims to help increase troops' "sensitivity" toward Islam.

The first principle of war is knowing your enemy and what motivates him. The PC-addled Pentagon seems to have forgotten that rule. Click Here to support Frontpagemag.com

I think the DOD is in the best position to determine what the statement means, whether he really said it, and what to do about it.

Or, maybe FrontPageMag has better ideas about how to run the military.

What are you complaining about? I merely took your idea to its logical end. If I understand your reasoning, she had the right idea, just merely the wrong targets.

You'll have to elaborate. I'm not going thru and entire 300 post thread to get the history here. You didn't include my response that I had to go hunt for.

Not one single person of my opposing viewpoint has even dared answer the questions that I posed in post #71. So no, I am not at all prepared to acquiesce to the notion that some sort of "logical end" has been reached particularly when it's not even clear what that "logical end" actually is for a lack of expansion on it.

I will however offer to you the chance to attempt to bring it to whichever logical conclusion that you seem to believe that it would "logically" end at. Perhaps we are in agreement which I'm not discounting.

Once again, my post #71 to the Chief, great defender of those that seek to turn our nation upside down:

Do you see any conflict, any conflict whatsoever, with the following line out of Amendment 1 of the BoR/Constitution and Islam and the Koran?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Here's a clue. The Koran states the following as a mere sampling of much, much more:

[2.193] And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah

[4.95] The holders back from among the believers, not having any injury, and those who strive hard in Allah's way with their property and their persons are not equal

[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

[8.39] And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah; but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do.

[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[9.11] But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate>, they are your brethren in faith

[9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

Now, do you see any conflict there CWO with the First Amendment, ... anything, ... anything at all?!

That was my challenge to those opposing me on this issue. We simply cannot progress until those opponents are willing to state how the US Constitution, and more specifically, the Bill of Rights and/or the First Amendment, is compatible with such doctrine.

It's a very simple concept. They either ARE or ARE NOT compatible with one another! There's no middle ground here.

Anyway, if you want to take on that challenge, please feel free. Allegra bailed on it. CWOJackson talks big as if talk means much. I suspect that he's really John Murtha posing as an anonymous. Either way, his polemical tactics are the same on paper as the terrorists in Iraq are on the field and as liberals are in our media and in the government, yet he talks a good game about "being in combat" and whatever else he seems to want us to think about his being so "willing to take on a challenge." Yet, he can't even answer some extremely simple questions. Somehow I doubt that if he can't do that, then he'd wet his pants over in Iraq. The bottom line is that he's effectively bailed on it too.

But it is the question du jour on this topic. NOT, what are we going to do now, what about this muslim or that muslim, or about which mosque goes where. Those are all red herring issues that detract from establishing a basis from which to operate. Which, quite frankly, brings my question around front-and-center!

I'll even restate it in other words:

Is it possible for an Islamically controlled political municipality, namely one in which Islam is not only preached but adhered to according to the verbage that's in the Koran, capable of holding our First Amendment up as the founding tenet of such a government?

How do you propose to convert 1.3 billion people from Islam to a presumably less objectionable religion?

Destroy Mecca, Medina, the Dome of the Rock and Qom and Islam crashes.

Good for them. One more incident like this and I'd ask for an honorable discharge pronto!

Ahhh, but come on, you don't really think that any of the actually believe what Mohammed wrote in the Koran, do ya! /sarcasm

Destroy Mecca, Medina, the Dome of the Rock and Qom and Islam crashes.

That is a hope. However, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld reminds us that hope is not a method.

Now, let's run a hypothetical exercise: you destroy Mecca, Medina, Qom, and the Dome of the Rock.

Islam doesn't crash. But now, instead of Islamism being a very extreme minority that mostly kills Muslim, it's now close to 100% of the world's Islamic population.

Now what?

I move to have the words "tolerance" and "respect" taken out of the dictionary. Will someone please second this motion.

People that have no issue with the spread of Islam must be fine with inviting someone that has written that they're going to kill you over for dinner.

It's the same thing on an individual level. Plain and simple. Of course there'll be a boatload of red herring excuses, ala good liberal argumentation, and a sheer and utter avoidance of the facts on the matter/issue(s).

Anytime that they want to recant that they can do so publicly and state that they weren't thinking and that they no longer adhere to that belief. If they do that however, then they should no longer term themselves as such or hold to other portions of the same basic philosophy.

Is this F'ing sick or what?

As the article says, "We are at war with militant Islam".

Are we also at war with Muslim U.S. Marines, or with the Muslim Jordanian intelligence agents who helped us track down Zaqawi and kill him or with our Muslim Kurdish allies?

Think of "militant Muslims" as the same type of religious whakos as the "Christian" fanatics that used to crush to death so-called "witches" in Salem or burn both Protestants and Catholics at the stake in 16th Century Europe.

Our war is with the fanatics.......not with every single Muslim on the Planet Earth.

Yes, I see conflict. The conflict is that you would treat U.S. Freakin Marines as third rate citizens! They deserve far better then you.

Sure chief. When you come up for air, let us know.

I'll wager you whatever you want that I can get FAR more actual active Marines to back me on this than you can fit into a Volkswagon Beetle!

I quite honestly have to laugh at the nonsense and crap that you bring to these forums. You reason like a true lib! Your history suggests that if Bush says "sneeze," then he'll have sneeze-goo on the backside of his teeth.

sure they are incompatible. And Romans 13:1-7 is incompatible with the American revolution. Its how words are followed that is the big deal, and I don't think those marines are out to undo the constitution.

"Is this F'ing sick or what? As a former Marine I got sick at my stomach reading this article. This is what happens when politically correct politicians get involved with trying not to offend the enemy instead of killing them. "

It's OK to proselytize for a religion that blasphemes the Bible and is actively seeking to destroy this nation among those who are the front line in defending it, but not the faith that is responsible, more than anything else, for this nation's unique positive contributions to world history and most American's claim to believe.

Utter insanity is the only reasonable response.

Even those caught in the darkness of Islam must laugh at how incredibly blatant a double-standard this is.

Political correctness is Satan's effective tool against his most effective foe, the Truth. No wonder the left is so hell-bent on enforcing it. It's sad how many are acquiescing to it's relentless pressure--as can be witnessed increasingly even on this forum---even by the moderators.

I heard they are building one of the biggest mosques in the world at the base, with a huge gold dome. And they are going to bus in senior citizens who don't know any better for Friday prayers. And that loudspeakers will blare the prayers across Quantico!
