If you are the generation after Gen-X, the Millenials as Strauss & Howe call them, then you are of the same generational archetype as what they call the "G.I. Generation", which we commonly know as "The Greatest Generation" of WWII.
This is my kid's generation, and he fits the mold perfectly. Very civic minded; wanting to make a difference even if it means less money for himself in the long run, etc. This, by the way, also is the same generation that is currently fighting in Iraq. This is also the same generation that will have more stay-at-home moms. Sounds a lot like the WWII generation to me.

Sounds like me. I am either going to be a teacher or a journalist because I want to serve and am willing to take a pay cut to do so.

There are so many bad teachers/journalists, and I want to show what it means to be a good one.

Exactly which way I will go though, I am not sure.

My son falls into the next generation as well and I completely agree. They (him and his fellow high-school friends) pleasantly surprise me on a daily basis. They are a very conservative group - boy am I proud!! (and this is even while living in the predominately liberal Left coast)

I see a different future when these kids come of age....just my personal observation.
