You know you're in trouble when the CANADIAN media exposes a pro-enviornment film as little more than propaganda.

What kind of drugs is he taking, because he has to be on something.

I think it comes in grape or fruit punch kool aid flavor...because the left is lapping it up.

Scientific debate is being replaced by pressure to conform to a new orthodoxy, reinforced by the control of research funds by governmental agencies.

"Geographic specific species" is one of the worst examples.

A kangaroo rat is a kangaroo rat wherever you find it. I still want it off my property.

I am working on a rebuttal to the flimsy evidence provided out of context in the National Post.
Please visit if you want to know what's going on in a little more depth.

Al Gore is, quite serially, clinically insane. The truth of a proposition does not depend upon its genesis.

The Right is dropping the ball on climate change and the left will carry it all the way to political power and much worse solutions to a real problem than we would get if you and others would get your head out of the sand and see that man is playing a role in climate change.

Actually Gore's film is a bit off as well, but so is this article which does a good job of repeating the talking points that the oil, coal industries, power companies and US auto amnufacturers want out there.

There are plenty of places to start, but how about this one:

95% of greenhouse gases by volume is conveniently ignored by Gore. While humanity's three billion tonnes (gigatonnes, or GT) per year net contribution to the atmosphere's CO2 load appears large on a human scale, it is actually less than half of 1% of the atmosphere's total CO2 content (750-830 GT).

A lovely piece of disinformation that is a new favourite. Naturally it makes two assumptions which is that the earth doesn't require some warming and that somehow the climate is like a water glass and not like a balance.

If it weren't for water vapour's warming, of course the earth would be freezing. Concurrently, stable climate is not like a glass of water where filling it a bit more makes no real difference, especially is we are talking about 1%. Rather it is like a sensitive balance. If you throw off the balance, it shifts everything. Of course the earth will generally recover, but not in human time scales.

The science purported in the article is far, far worse, inaccurate disinformation than in Gore's movie.

The reason the Anti's hate the movie so much is because it is so effective. Because they are losing the argument (because they are wrong) and because they will lose big in the political battle as a result.

You said,

I have never thought that the Earth is "...like a sensitive balance..." but I feel certain that you sincerely and fervently believe it.

I wonder...

Are you aware of any hard evidence that would support such a conclusion?

Hard evidence to support an analogy is sort of impossible, and the word "sensitive" is actually totally subjective and based on perspective, so I will respectfully ask you to ignore it.

Concurrently, you are right, I view the earth in that manner.

Here is a PowerPoint presentation you can look which is actually quite interesting. I could send you the actual document if you want to go through it not in adobe. Page 6 is a graph of ice corps that show that balance I am talking about.

Thanks.

I looked at the power-point. I'll print it out this evening, collect some new information and respond.

...It seems that liberal arts graduate Al Gore,

The author's too king. He did not include "failed divinity student/law school drop out"
among the Algor's academic credentials.
