Here in my neck of the woods, as liberal as it is, we have this...
Eastlake believes in our residents and our country, and City Hall is the proud home of The Boulevard of 500 Flags, a permanent display of American Flags that salutes Eastlake residents who served our Country in time of war.

UPDATE PING--
Official Newswire Release for tomorrow's rally
ALL--I've had long telephone conversations with two of the seven City Council members and today spent part of the morning at City Hall, giving the Mayor and the City Attorney (actually, their staff) copies of the flyer and discussing the issue with, among others, the Mayor's assistant. I stopped by the City Council offices but none were in their offices while I was there... These efforts seemed like the right things to do in seeking a positive resolution....
Again, the issue is NOT the flags normally flown at City Hall. The issue is the special large flag that has been flown. The budget is there for the lighting and the weights to keep the bottom edge from flapping in the wind. Four Council members said no.
National Holidays were MADE for flying big flags from City Hall, know what I mean?
