Two New Jersey Democrats are pushing to have Ann Coulter's new book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," banned from all bookstores in their state because she criticized four 9/11 widows known as "the Jersey Girls."

I guess New Jersey rats have never read nor comprehended the first amendment to the United States Constitution. IDIOTS!

I can't believe I'm hearing this idiocy from United States elected officials...These two are talking like Nazis! FWIW, in the late '30's New Jersey was a major locus of American Nazi activity, the Bund had a summer camp there....They need to be censured, and lectured on free speech!

Actually the book sellers are quite within their rights to refuse to sell her book, Ann has the right to write a book but she has no right to have it published, reviewed or bought. The Constitution ban on censorship only applies to the Government.

That said, all this will do will be to add another bunch off sales to her total. This same thing would happen when the Catholic Church would forbid Catholics to read this or that book or see a certain movie.

But, all they are doing is asking booksellers to not carry the book. They are not doing anything from a governmental/legal point. Technically, they are asking for this as "private citizens" (but using their postitions in government to garner publicity).

So, as long as there is no law or offical government edict demanding Ann's books be removed, there is no violation of free speech as far as the Constitution is concerned. There is nothing in the Constitution that says a reseller has to carry Ann's book.

Of course this only highlights the left's postition on the right to speak your mind. If the left says it, it is "free speech". If the right says it, it's "hate mongering".
