A Marine who served near Haditha in November said it was not unusual for Marines to respond to attacks "running and gunning" and that it was standard practice to spray rooms with gunfire when threatened. "It may be a bad tactic, but it works," he said. "It keeps you alive."
Those on the Left and in the MSM would rather we casually walked up to groups of people in dangerous areas and just asked nicely if they were insurgents. If we handled these viper pits of terrorist activities like S.W.A.T. teams do....waiting, negotiating, waiting some more....nothing will ever be accomplished.
If the MSM especially the WaPo) is printing stories like this, I am inclined to believe they may be sitting on more exhonorating info. The "another My Lai", "hang 'em high" crowd is going to suffer a serious backlash on this story when all is said and done.

And right you are :)
Extract of Infantry Battle Drill #6, Field Manual 7-8, Infantry Rifle Platton and Squad:
8. Allowing cook-off time (two seconds maximum), and shouting FRAG OUT, the lead soldier of the assaulting fire team prepares and throws a grenade into the building.
9. After the explosion, the next soldier enters the building and positions himself to the right (left) of the entrance, up against the wall, engages all identified or likely enemy positions with rapid, short bursts of automatic fire, and scans the room. The rest of the team provides immediate security outside the building.
The defense rests...
And just think they haven't even finished the investigation.

I'm sorry, the left will have an absolute field day with this!
WaPo seems to be one of the few "smart ones" that don't want to look like complete idiots when the story falls apart. They will print articles like this one, unlike the NYSlimes that will keep insisting the story is "phony but accurate".
