Me thinks you have something personal in all this in singling her out from an entire field of people involved in politics with the same ego/money requirements.

It's not just the money. It's her vicious personality. A female Michael Savage.

If Coulter looked like Maggie Gallagher (an overweight conservative columnist), you wouldn't give her the time of day.

Yeah I would...and I did before ever seeing a picture. I had only heard her on talk radio and read some quotes but it wasn't until a year or so ago that I first saw her picture posted on this forum.

My favorite read is Thomas Sowell and I also don't care one way or another about his legs.

Your replies are dripping with something very personal and I hope it works out OK because that's a heavy burden to carry.

"It's her vicious personality"

I agree. Way to vicious, not my cup of tea..as they say. Ann could get the message across without being so mean, in my opinion. But, who am I ...just another poster who reads the news. Ann is a very rich lawyer / writer....hmmm, maybe I shoud turn to being vicious :-) Nah...not my style.

Freeper sinkspur directs a lot of emotional, hostile criticism at Colter's attacks on the liberal tactic of victimhood.

How does he do it? Why, with a series of mean, personal attacks on her.

PROJECTION:

For sinkspur's edification, I include the following, which is a collection of definitions of projection from orthodox psychology texts. In this system the distinct mechanism of projecting own unconscious or undesirable characteristics onto an opponent is called Freudian Projection.

1. "A defense mechanism in which the individual attributes to other people impulses and traits that he himself has but cannot accept. It is especially likely to occur when the person lacks insight into his own impulses and traits."

2. "The externalisation of internal unconscious wishes, desires or emotions on to other people. So, for example, someone who feels subconsciously that they have a powerful latent homosexual drive may not acknowledge this consciously, but it may show in their readiness to suspect others of being homosexual."

3. "Attributing one's own undesirable traits to other people or agencies, e.g., an aggressive man accuses other people of being hostile."

4. "The individual perceives in others the motive he denies having himself. Thus the cheat is sure that everyone else is dishonest. The would-be adulterer accuses his wife of infidelity."

5. "People attribute their own undesirable traits onto others. An individual who unconsciously recognises his or her aggressive tendencies may then see other people acting in an excessively aggressive way."

6. "Projection is the opposite defence mechanism to identification. We project our own unpleasant feelings onto someone else and blame them for having thoughts that we really have."
