Taken as satire or not, the point is "why should we hate rich people"--to which I responded, more or less, "why should we love them, when they have so little love for the average guy's plight?"
The goal of all satire and irony is to make a point from a different direction. Sadly, you don't understand that the point is still the same. Why is that?
