Thanks for posting this. I have not posted here on FR for months - maybe even over a year now - anyway - I do remember Howlin.

My heart goes out to Howlin and all. Having just lost my 91-year old father-in-law 2 weeks ago (the first parent for my husband and I) - I can sort of relate.

So very sorry for your loss. It's a difficult disease and is very draining.
My father died of colon cancer several years ago, in his case it was almost a blessing. You can be sure you mother is in a much better place now, our prayers go with you and your mom.
