His plan sounds generally sound. The implementation of the government monopoly on weapons will be hard to implement, though, I think. And likely dangerous.
Also, the subset requirement of that, integrating the militias into the security forces, that might be dangerous.
Other than that...seems like a generally good direction.
No wonder they want our guns, they were on to them. Can't have a bunch of well-armed citizens capable of defending their their god-given rights running around - someone could get hurt.
Baloney. The examples I posted were never wanted by "the masses". They were wanted by the chosen. You need to see beyond the drivel and realize that Marx is winning, from the grave.
If you want more examples, read the Communist Manifesto and point out any of the steps in that book that have not or are not coming to manifestation, then go to sleep and then WAKE UP.
.......never mind, I see your point, I guess I'm not a part of the masses....

With the bar feed its about 12 seconds per bullet, if I'm not pushing it.
This is just opinion of where the danger lies:
1. Many Americans are apathetic to issues that should concern them. The Conservative values of our nation are drown out by the vocal loud mouths in Hollywood, our MSM and activist groups for gay, animal, or whatever else rights. You have 85% of Americans claiming to be religious but small vocal groups banning the 10 Commandments in courtrooms. Apathy of the masses allows organized and vocal minority groups to push the majority around. Most Americans are Conservative, but will they take a stand on an issue they never hear anything on? Are partial birth abortions a new phenomena? No, only now finally the public has been confronted with the reality of this issue. Thats another aspect that is over looked. While thousands of partial birth abortions take place, CBS reports about the hazards of silicone breast implants, which later have been proven safe and are in circulation once again, but not until after they managed to bankrupt several along the way.
As Clinton was hollowing out the DoD, CIA, NSA the people did not care. http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/1993_cr/s930421-budget.htm (The CIA lost over 7 billion over 5 years and then another 5% of the remaining budget thanks to the Barney Franks amendment during the Clinton years. Over all, our Intelligence budget shrunk by 1/3 in its total size) Apathy- Unltil 911.
2. The new immigrants are exactly what you state. Many are socialists or even Marxist. 150 years ago people came to the US to be free and to stand on their own two feet. The new immigrant comes for an $80,000 a year job but retains his old value system. The immigrant of today does not want to blend or melt in. No, he wants to maintain and even propagate his views. The Iranian living in the US wants to remain an Iranian even though he has a US passport. The new immigrant flees his homeland for economic reasons and comes to the US with the belief that the way things were in his home country are better. The Indian still believes in Casts, the German still thinks social medicine and a strong social infrastructure are good things. He just comes here because he can get a better job. But these people never ask themselves why their economy is in the gutter and left in the first place. Not all new immigrants are this way, but many. The shift away from integration years ago (A very PC thing to do during that time) has caused people to live here, but not become Americans. The Norman Rockwell picture of America is being replaced by the NYC Jamaican Hip-hop artist. The pioneer spirit is dying. The urge to go further, higher, deeper, is gone. Today people question the need to why we need to explore Neptune; after all, they could use that money for more baggy pants, or a crack pipe with their initials on it. The values that made America the power house it once was are going away. With their death America as a nation will fade away. Its culture that makes wealth, not the other way around. Trailer park trash will remain trailer park trash no matter how much money you give it. Its people like Theodore Roosevelt that made this country strong, not Clinton and his peace dividend or Johnson and his great society
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/12/09/hassoun.desert You have them in our government, in our military and they live and breathe in the US, but they neither feel American nor are loyal to our flag.
Want more proof? Sure, look at the demonstrations of illegals who wave the Mexican flag around. Un-Americans-
3. Our MSM and Hollywood act as a huge sounding board for liberal thought. Certain parts of our society can influence other parts greatly. Hollywood, our MSM are extremely liberal and they basically advertise their agenda with how they report the news and the movies that they produce. No better example can you use than the whole FOX news war on Christmas debate where the MSM largely relativized and downplayed logical, factually correct, and reasonable arguments as to why Christmas itself was being undermined. The MSM overwhelmingly took position, and guess who's side they were on? With movies like Trans America, Broke Back Mountain, Fahrenheit 911, Syriana and and and they push their agenda.
When Iraq was defeated in 3 weeks ground combat, Newsweek reported that this had only been possible due to Clintons Army. Hollywood/MSM bias-
This all adds up to spell problems. I agree that things are getting worse in that the socialist thinking is taking foot hold in the US. But the politician is still subordinate to the will of the people if they are informed and participate in the political process.
Bush wanted to grant blanket amnesty and put no troops on the boarder. That's changed a little, hasn't it? Once people were informed and began to get involved he had no choice! The dichotomy between him pandering to the Hispanic vote and his own base became apparent and the issue quickly demanded that he return to a conservative position. The people do have power if they actually care enough and are informed to act.

The power in the US is held by the voters, no, it's not and the political leader knows this. They know no such thing and they don't care a whit about what we want.
FMCDH(BITS)
That is exactly right. Thank you and here's your cigar.

The problem with a democracy is that its the masses that rule unless they are silent and abdicate their power to more vocal smaller groups.
Our politics is marked by compromise and political gamesmanship where majorities are built by pandering to various minority groups that often even should be mutually exclusive. At times these things clash, as was the case with the boarder and Bush who had to back peddle on the issue a bit before he alienated his base. But nonetheless, its STILL the vote that matters and pressured the policy maker to do the right thing.
Fake motivation is still motivation. Even if Bush reluctantly places 6,000 troops on the boarder and begins a crackdown now, it's still being done.
The whole reason why you see this conservative backlash in the last years is because Middle America is fed up! They are becoming more interested; they rallied around Bush and organized in churches during the last elections. You didn't see this in the Carter elections. The masses don't like the direction and there is a counter movement to this liberal trend that even infected the highest courts and offices of our government. Today much of this is being rolled back. The liberal would claim the exact same thing you are; that their voice does not matter and that our government is acting on its own unattached from the wishes of its people. Not the case. Today you see states banning abortion outright, partial birth abortion banned nationally, capital punishment making a come back, states granting people concealed carry permits where it was banned earlier, liberal judges getting squashed in the media, news shows that actually have a slight conservative angle and much more.
Middle America cares about the boarder, so Bush cant play games. While in the larger picture there are real threats to our values, culture and nation from the over all liberalization of our society, the contemporary trend is that Middle America is fed up and fighting back.
Again, you are dead on right. The only probem is, this is not a democracy, it was never intended to be, it's a republic, and our republic has been cast aside, along with any "democracy" underlying it. If this were a democracy, there would be no Electoral College, the popular vote would decide, kind of like the french revolution did, and in that case, if you didn't vote "popularly" you got dead.
At any rate, I'm glad you give so much credit to our esteemed elected officials. Somebody has to, besides themselves.
