Spinning Their Way to Defeat June 9th, 2006

The first reaction that most Americans had to news that the Jordanian born terrorist Abu Musab al Zarqawi was killed in a precision bombing raid by the United States Air Force yesterday was one of elation mixed with a grim satisfaction that a huge obstacle to bringing peace and security to Iraq was permanently removed. It was one of those moments that has occurred so rarely in this war; a triumph of good over evil and a clear cut victory for the United States for which all Americans should be thankful.

Not so fast, say many on the left. Former Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich was one of the first to try and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Ohio Democrat, said Zarqawi was a small part of “a growing anti-American insurgency” and that it’s time to get out.

“We’re there for all the wrong reasons,” Mr. Kucinich said.

Although the initial reaction to the news by the Democratic party leadership was suitably positive – Senate Minority Leader Reid was particularly fulsome in his praise of the military – as the day went on, a curious thing happened; al Zarqawi shrank in size and importance until by about mid-afternoon, many on the left were asking the question “So where’s Osama?” This Reuters headline was echoed a thousand times on liberal websites and left wing talk radio shows:

“Zarqawi found, but bin Laden still eludes US.”

We just whacked out a MAJOR AQ terrorist and the left cannot even rejoice in his death? This MF was killing US soldiers, murdering contractors and inciting violence and yet all that they can think about is the guy who sits in a cave and let's everyone else do the dirty work.

OBL needs to die on a spit but this dude was bad news.

So they were for his death before they were against it.

Good article.

Refuting Leftist nonsense is critical, but especially after events like this. The author references this lie from the Huffington Post:

"Well, for one thing, Zarqawi was an invented menace. "

Of all the leftist lies, this is the most poisonous. Hundreds of Iraqi civilians are killed each month in violence and car bomb attacks, and Zarqawi has been the #1 leader in those attacks.

To call him an 'inented menace' is not just an insult to the Bush administration, but an insult to the victims of this terrorist.

The hell with the leftie loonies in general and Michael Berg - whom I nominate for Father of the Year - in particular. Anyone on the left who cannot see the removal of Zarqawi as a big step in the WOT, regardless of remaining work to do, need to have their heads examined. It really is a mental disease!

Further, they've been B-ing and M-ing about why we haven't gotten bin Laden for the last four years. Just watch: on the day we do nail that MF, they'll downplay that too!

This is a very good article. Our press needs more scrutiny. Why is that they're so eager to be the mouth piece for the enemies of America? Zarquai was a mass murderer. Yet they want to ignore his violence and figure out how to get Bush. If we had not gotten Zarquai, they'd use that against Bush and say he was incompetent. When we get him, he doesn't matter. When he's not struck before the war, he's a terrorist in Iraq whom Bush ignored. When he's there after the war, he's new to Iraq because of the war. Do they have any sense of reality anymore? Do they ever see their inconsistencies? How would the Democrats long-wanted policy of retreat have gotten Saddam or Zarquai? They have no answer. Increasingly, their also showing they have no decency either.

Save this article as it preserves the treasonous Democrat rhetoric.

It's becoming impossible to continue to think of these people as fellow Americans. They should all be treated like the guy in "The Man Without A Country" and set adrift on the ocean.

Good piece, thanks for the post.

The MSM and the air heads on the left will stop at nothing to trivialize an event of this impotance solely because of their hatred of President Bush and his administration.

Their pathetic bias puts our military men and women in additional peril.

That's so much like the washington Post isn't it? A paper that touts itself as the most important newspaper in the most important city in the world obsesses on whether the frame surrounding the picture of a dead terrorist mastermind is appropriate or not. Arrrrgh!

Bingo! I live around a bunch of leftists. I use to ignore them, but over time, they start bringing you down with them.

I was the only one in my neighborhood who flew a flag on Memorial Day. I despise these people.

To: anyone
Well..thanks for the nice comments--I am really only just "posted" an already great article---but I will take some small thanks for at least PICKING OUT a Good ARTICLE TO post here.

Many might know me--I talk alot.

I DID post a Pretty Damn Good
" Memorial Day :History & Photos "
Thread this last Memorial Day if I must say so myself.

But besides maybe--like the REAL GREAT People here ; You Freepers, I may spot a good article that hits home from time to time--I REALLY only am concerned with two things:

1) INFORMATION/Facts that by Marketing/Advertising standards can be USED to Counter ANY LIBERAL ARGUMENT and shut them DOWN!!( I am an advertiser retired- and political archivist) and

2) GETTING OUT IN THE STREETS!!! and Marching!! Rallying!!

Conservatives HAVE to get more organized--because "WE" really are the only ones to blame for :

--- Illegal Aliens reaching this point!(We let it slide!)

--- OUR Representatives NOT speaking OUT ENOUGH! Cause we don't force or threaten them enough with getting the BOOT from us!!

--- The WAR being Under- Promoted and Under-Supported!!( Where are OUR Pro-Troop Rallies!!)

BR>
--- And in General: Just NOT getting INVOLVED enough!
( because--and I DO recognize this--Because we WORK for a Living!!)

But it isn't enough that WE watch THEM go down in circles--

WHAT WILL HAPPEN "IF" the Dems DO "SHUT-UP"??

"WE" can NOT rely on them hanging THEMSELVES for US to win!!
That's Like NOT knowing how to Play "pool"--but only winning a few times cause the OTHER GUY "Scratches" and we win by default!

We have Liberal TEACHERS & SCHOOLS we have to address!
We have Liberal NEWS PAPERS we have to Confront!
WE need MORE "Door to Door" campaigning ourselves!

And I feel-it is up to US to get OUR message out!--cause obviously--the Barn is Burning!!-the Firemen WE HIRED are RUNNING FOR COVER THEMSELVES--so IF we DO want our barn (Country) to be saved--it really IS only up to us.

WE are the only ones who can save America.

And after what I went thru for the last 2 years-I realize there IS NO "All the time inthe world "...It IS going FAST! and what will the NEXT Generation do when "WE" are all gone? or gone too early?

Have a great day-and God Bless you all.

Toady while I am OFF from work-I keep thinking of my ex-brother in law who died in Iraq 16 months ago--who gave his life for a country that adopted him--and then me --so I need some air now. God Bless you all and GET OUT THERE!!!!!

Here is one American who--I think--laments the death of Zarqawi. Brad Odland has threatened, that's right...threatened conservatives by stating, "Hey conservatives...I am watching YOU" while he posted the following at DU:

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/LeftHander/7

There, he says, in reference to conservatives, "War is the goal." That's right, according to Mr. Odland, you conservatives started and perpetuate war.

Please email Brad Odland at bodland@sbcglobal.net and let him know your thoughts. Since he states, "I am watching YOU," please let him know we are watching him, too. He lives in Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States. One of his home sites is http://www.blogger.com/profile/3020080
