June 9, 2006 MESSAGE FROM NATALIE, EMILY & MARTIE:
To our Fans: Any reports being made about the cancellation of our upcoming Accidents And Accusations tour are completely false.
We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and we will continue to do so. Dixie Chicks fans are as active and dedicated as they come. This time around we are willingly feeling our way through unchartered territory. Things don't come as easy as they might have come in the past, and it makes each accomplishment more exciting and appreciated.
We will go where the fans are with great anticipation and no regrets. To find out (along with us) where that is, visit www.dixiechicks.com for all updates to Accidents And Accusations tour information.
Love, The Chicks
"Just need a manager like Ian Faith denying that their popularity is waning, its just their appeal is more selective"
Yeah, with a cricket bat smacking the loud mouthed ugly one instead of a TV
The Dixie Chicks, to paraphrase the words of "Goodbye Earl",
"A missing trio who nobody missed at all"
Yes, there is a God.
The Dippy Chicks and their "cool" fans deserve each other.
That was exactly the one I had in mind!
I think that honor may now fall to the Dixie Chicks' latest album Taking the Long Way.
I just listened to the whole thing (don't worry, I didn't pay for it) and seven of the fifteen songs, and four of the first six, deal directly with the imbroglio over their insult of President Bush. They proceed to call their fan base morons and hayseeds throughout. A couple of songs are musical, but the vast portion of it is dreck.
I am a big fan of their earlier work, but this latest effort is clearly all about the message, and not about the music. The problem is, nobody wants to hear their stupid message anymore. We got it, already. You're a bunch of defeatist pacifist hacks who don't much care for the President. We would have been willing to move on if you had been ready to make nice. But you weren't ready.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Wilson Phillips harmonized very well.
The Chunks don't get it--soon they'll be relegated to a hotel lounge act in a blue state only to be called upon in the event of a Murtha/Kucinich presidential ticket fund raiser.
