Captured Zarqawi Aide Spilled the Beans
ABC News ^ | 06/09/06 | Alexis Debat

An Iraqi customs agent secretly working with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's terror cell spilled the beans on the group after he was arrested, Jordanian officials tell ABC News.

Ziad Khalaf Raja al-Karbouly was arrested by Jordanian intelligence forces last spring.

Officials say Karbouly confessed to his role in the terror cell and provided crucial information on the names of Zarqawi commanders and locations of their safe houses.

Karbouly also admitted to his role in the kidnappings of two Moroccan embassy employees, four Iraqi National Guards and an Iraqi finance ministry official.

In a videotaped confession, Karbouly said he acted on direct orders from Zarqawi.

Officials say he will not be eligible for any of the $25 million reward money.

Sorry to direct anyone to ABC's (All Bulls**t Coverage) website, but I thought this was interesting. Hopefully Hastert will soon own ABC News.

And the 25 million continues to draw interest. That worked out well.

Boy Jordan is really really out there trying to get as much credit for this as they can.

If they deserve, I don't mind them taking all they can get.

It's very interesting that they don't seem to be worried about retaliation. Could inspire other relatively moderate muslim fence sitters to throw al Qaeda under the bus and sign on with Uncle Sugar.

Just roll over that reward for the head of whomever takes over Al Qaeda in Iraq now. Whoever it is will never have the level of loyalty Zarqawi commanded, as imperfect as we now know that was.

Zarqawi took on the King of Jordan with those hotel bombings. Now the King is letting everyone in the hood know what happens when you do that.

Did our interrogators put panties on his head? Flush a Koran down the toilet in front of him?

Did they trick him into thinking he was getting $25 million?

I hope we didn't get this information by putting this man under duress! (/sarc)

If true, this is really great news.

This means an al Qaeda thug can captured anywhere, and the intel can reach out to zero the bad thugs far away.

One can only hope that the Jordanians didn't put female panties on the head of this poor terrorist to get this info.

"...al-Karbouly was arrested by Jordanian intelligence forces.."

Good thing the Jordanians got him. If we did, he probably would still be sitting in some cushy prison cell complaining to Red Cross and getting gourmet chow... AND Zarqawi would be free. I wonder how the Jordanians 'handled' him.

"I wonder if this dude was tortured?"

Rush alluded to this yesterday.

You can bet, that the whiney lefties of America and around the world will complain that their Hero, Z Pig, was killed due to intel gained by torture.

Yeah, damn that rendition program! It may well have taken one of history's worst terrorists out of the game. We can't have that.

That family is good at putting on smiley faces for their western friends, but when they have to, they can be at least as ruthless as any of the other Middle East badboys. To my mind, the King's father is the only leader in the last 50 years who has effectively dealt with the Palestinians -- which he did by wiping 'em out during the Black September uprising.
